"From Costa Rica, we have some somewhat ambient noise.
The bottom most layer of these tracks are field recordings. They sound like they are outside and in somewhat busy areas. They create a good base for the tracks, and are later covered with a healthy dose of reverb as the track goes on.
The next layer sounds like some home recorded classical guitar. The player seems to be improvising, and relatively well too. Their playing is quite easy going and melodic. However the prominent frequencies in the recording help the guitar penetrate through the mix and remind you of their presence if perhaps your eyes begin to glaze over for some reason.
On top of this is the noise. It inconsistently pulses throughout the tracks, sometimes rearing its head for a bit, but never for long enough to dominate the real estate of the track.
Overall Sewage City is a comfortable experience, but it's the sort of comfort you know doesn't last long, so it keeps you a touch on edge too."
